Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Solve For Why Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore (“Bolbala,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your use of bolbala.fun, the Bolbala web app, the Bolbala browser extension, our emails, and any game we make available on other websites (together, the “Service”).

By playing on Bolbala you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What Bolbala Is

Bolbala is a collection of Hindi games and puzzles — word hunts, sentence builders, listening games, a Hindi crossword, a Sunday riddle, and more — for anyone who wants to learn, practise or simply play in Hindi. Every game explains the words it uses, and a word you tap anywhere on the site shows its meaning and speaks it aloud.

The games are free to play. You don't need an account to play. An account exists for one reason: so your सिक्के (coins) and streak follow you to a new device or browser.

3. Accounts, Profiles and Age

You can sign in with an email link or a Google account. One account can hold several player profiles — for example, one for each person in a family. A profile is just a nickname; it needs no email of its own.

Bolbala is for players of all ages. If you are under 13 (or under the age at which you can consent to an online service where you live), you must play through a parent's or guardian's account, using a profile they have created for you. A profile marked as a child's profile receives no marketing emails, no advertising and no social features. The account holder is responsible for the profiles on their account.

Keep your sign-in email secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. You may delete your account at any time (see Section 14).

4. सिक्के (Coins) and Streaks

Playing earns सिक्के. सिक्के are points inside Bolbala. They are not money, have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred, exchanged or withdrawn, and do not become your property. We may, in future, let you use सिक्के for features inside Bolbala; we may also change how many सिक्के a game awards, and we may remove सिक्के that were earned by cheating, automation or exploiting a bug.

Streaks and सिक्के that were earned while playing as a guest are stored on your device. When you first sign in, we carry a reasonable amount of them into your account once. We can't restore progress lost because a device or browser cleared its storage while you were signed out.

5. Fair Play

Play the games yourself. Don't use bots, scripts, automated tools or multiple accounts to earn सिक्के or influence leaderboards, and don't tamper with the game data your browser sends us. We may reset, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

6. Free Today; What May Change

Everything on Bolbala is currently free. We may in future introduce optional paid features (for example, a puzzle archive or extra puzzles), family plans, or advertising on parts of the Service that are not child profiles. If we do, we will say so clearly, explain what is paid and what stays free, and never charge you for anything you did not knowingly choose. Any paid features will have their own terms at the time.

You can also choose to support Bolbala with a one-time contribution at bolbala.fun/support. Contributions are voluntary, are processed by Stripe, buy nothing extra on the Service, and are not refundable except where the law requires. Solve For Why Pte. Ltd. is a company, not a registered charity, so contributions are not tax-deductible.

7. Emails

If you give us your email for Bolbala — Play of the week, we will send you one game email a week and the occasional note when a new game lands. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at bolbala.fun/unsubscribe. Sign-in emails (magic links) are sent only when you ask to sign in.

8. Our Content

The games, puzzles, riddles, word library, illustrations, sounds, code, name and marks on Bolbala belong to Solve For Why Pte. Ltd. or our licensors. You may play them, share your results, and link to them. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute or resell them, or use the Service to build a competing product, without our written permission. Traditional Hindi riddles, idioms and proverbs are part of a shared heritage; our particular wording, translations, explanations and puzzle designs are ours.

9. Things You Send Us

If you send us a riddle, a puzzle idea, a sentence or feedback (for example over WhatsApp or email), you give us a free, worldwide, permanent licence to use, edit and publish it in the Service. We may credit you by first name. Please don't send us anything you don't have the right to share.

10. Games on Other Websites

We may offer Bolbala games for other websites to embed. Playing an embedded game is subject to these Terms; the host website's own terms and privacy policy apply to the rest of that site. Sites that wish to embed our games need our permission and are bound by a separate agreement.

11. Acceptable Use

Don't misuse the Service: no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer it; no unlawful, abusive or misleading conduct; no impersonating another player; no collecting other people's data through the Service.

12. Third-Party Services

Bolbala runs on services provided by others — hosting, database and sign-in, email delivery, and Google sign-in if you choose it. They are listed in our Privacy Policy. The Chrome Web Store's terms apply to the browser extension in addition to these Terms.

13. Disclaimers and Liability

Bolbala is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work hard on it, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that you will learn Hindi at any particular pace. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Solve For Why Pte. Ltd. is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to SGD 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Ending Your Account

You may stop using Bolbala at any time. To delete your account and the data attached to it, email us at hello@solveforwhy.org from your sign-in address; we will confirm and delete it within 30 days. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, and we'll tell you why where we reasonably can.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Bolbala grows. For material changes we will post a notice on the site, or email account holders, at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to play after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Singapore, without prejudice to consumer rights you may have where you live.

17. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, that part will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will continue to apply.
